5 Quotes That Will Motivate You to Study

Roughly around this time ten years ago I was hunched over my desk studying AS level Chemistry, desperate for a boost.

I downed a mug of instant coffee. Whilst waiting for the caffeine to jump-start my brain, I decided to Google “motivational quotes”. Ten minutes later I had a dozen Post-It notes stuck all over my desk with quotes scrawled on them.

Every time my mind wondered the rest of that day my eyes inevitably caught sight of a quote and stopped my idle thoughts in their tracks… I was far more productive that day compared to the day before!

It is amazing how a good quote can spur you into action. Find below five of my favourite quotes that are sure to motivate you to study.

1. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’! – Audrey Hepburn

Self-doubt plagues all of us at times. Remember Hepburn’s words if you start to feel overwhelmed.

No matter how hard it’s starting to feel, it is possible for you to achieve your goal.

2. Believe you can and you’re halfway there. – Theodore Roosevelt

Many iconic events and innovations began merely as ideas that others laughed at. Without determination and a belief that they were possible to create, we would not have got the Eiffel Tower, the internet or the first heart transplant.

Thus, believe you can get the grades you want and you’re halfway there!

3. If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride – and never quit, you’ll be a winner. – Paul Bryant

The key feature of this quote is “never quit”. You may fail, or fall behind schedule or just generally start to give up on yourself.

And that’s understandable because what you’re attempting to achieve probably isn’t easy.

But, if you pick yourself up off the floor after every set back and encourage yourself to soldier on, you’ll be far more likely to succeed. Persistence is the key ingredient to success!

4. Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars. – Les Brown

This is one of my favourite quotes when it comes to studying. Let’s face it, bad luck can strike even the most prepared of us.

But, if you take the attitude that even if bad luck does pounce on you, you’ve worked so hard it wouldn’t be able to set you back very far, you’ve set yourself up to do well even if the odds turn against you.

5. I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’ – Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali was a world famous champion boxer and is an iconic historical figure of the 20th century. When studying becomes painful and boring remind yourself of Muhammad’s attitude. Suffer now and live the rest of your life with fantastic grades…
