Sometimes what we really need is guidance, support, structure and encouragement. Study Coaching provides exactly this.
It can feel terrific when you put in a great amount of effort and achieve a fantastic grade! Equally, it can be crushing if you work incredibly hard and only earn a mediocre grade. Thankfully, study coaches help you to achieve fantastic grades with as little effort as possible.
How do they do this?
You and your coach establish very early on a particular goal, or series of goals, that you are determined to accomplish.
Coaches are trained to listen carefully and ask just the right questions to help you find solutions to problems that may be unique to you and your situation. They help you to see problems in a new light (Egan, 2001), provide guidance and recommend resources. Great coaching stimulates learning, action and change in you (Starr, 2011).
Once you have identified together a range of ways of achieving your goal or goals, they help you craft an effective plan. Then, they help you on your journey as you complete the plan and get steadily closer to achieving what you wish to.
Coaching sessions are confidential; anything discussed stays between you and your coach.
Coaching sessions can be online or face-to-face.
Who are they?
Our study coaches are often also tutors. However, coaches will not necessarily be experts in your particular subject area due to the nature of how truely effective coaching works – it’s not necessary. Instead, they are experts at guiding you towards solutions, opportunities and constructing effective plans.
The best way to find out if coaching is for you is to book a 30 minute free consultation with one of our coaches. If you find the session helpful, simply book more sessions!
